Job summary

Heart Hospital of Austin seeks a Registered Nurse in PACU to care for postoperative patients and collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams. You will monitor neurological and cardiac status, manage airway support, and perform initial wound care while ensuring safety and recovery.

On-call availability during select non-business hours is discussed in the interview. Qualifications include RN license and ACLS/BLS within required timeframes, with a degree in nursing.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in PACU.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including providers and anesthesia.
• Apply nursing process with critical thinking and scientific judgment.
• Assess patient condition, monitor and document changes during shift.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up.
