Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to provide safe, patient-centered recovery care after surgical procedures. You will monitor airway, neurological and cardiac status, manage wound care, and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia teams to ensure stable recovery.

This role requires on-call availability during select non-business hours and a commitment to evidence-based practice, patient education, and continuous improvement in

Qualifications

• ACLS within 1 year of employment start date
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 1 year of employment start date
• RN license and active RN registration
• Registered Nurse Diploma

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in PACU using evidence-based practices
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe recovery
• Apply nursing process with critical thinking and leadership to deliver safe care
• Assess patient condition, monitor status, and document changes thoroughly
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures
