Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse in the PACU to provide high-quality post-operative care at St. David's Surgical Hospital in Austin, TX.

You will work closely with surgeons and anesthesia teams to monitor and support patients through recovery, documenting changes and communicating effectively with the care team. The role requires active Texas RN licensure, ACLS/BLS within 30 days, and willingness to participate in on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas.
• ACLS and BLS certifications within 30 days of start date.
• PACU or perioperative nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the immediate post-operative period.
• Collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe recovery.
• Consistently apply the nursing process and critical thinking to deliver safe care.
• Monitor patient status, document changes, and communicate updates.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and follow-up needs.
