Job summary

Surgicare of South Austin, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PACU Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center to provide safe, high-quality postoperative care. You will help patients recover, monitor vitals, and support discharge planning in a fast-paced, family‑centered environment.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license with 1+ year PACU/OR experience, BCLS certification, ACLS within 30 days, and PALS if required by facility.

Qualifications

• RN license required and is active in the state of employment.
• BCLS certification required upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare care area and ensure equipment and supplies are available.
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients per policy (vital signs, temp, cardiac).
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks.
• Perform head-to-toe evaluation using approved scoring system.
• Check dressings or operative site and report abnormalities.
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and family.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
