Job summary

Opella is seeking a Packaging Technician to operate and maintain diverse packaging machinery, from tube fillers to bottle fillers and cappers. You will set up, clean, and maintain equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and efficient output on a 12-hour day shift.

Qualifications

• Education: You must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Experience in manufacturing, production, including operating high-speed packaging or assembly equipment, start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers.
• Technical Competencies: Proficient in operating various packaging machinery and tools, including electric and manual lift trucks, tape machines, and equipment like fillers, cappers, labelers, and bundlers.
• Physical Ability: Capable of lifting 25-60 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and demonstrating coordination, manual dexterity, and mechanical aptitude.
• Special Requirements: Comply with dress code regulations, be willing to undergo training, and work with exposure to product, dust, grease, and hazards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain production lines, ensuring safety, quality and output.
• Troubleshoot and propose smarter, simpler ways to keep things running; receive training and ownership.
• Support sustainability goals and protect people and the planet.
• Collaborate in a team that is radically simple, supportive and outcome-focused.
• Disassemble and reassemble machinery as needed using appropriate tools.
• Prepare packaging lines for various products and ensure proper setup.
• Provide packaging supplies to maintain smooth operations.
• Monitor product quality and reject non-conforming materials per FDA-cGMP standards.
• Document and maintain fill levels according to product specs.
• Operate lines following Set-Up Sheets, SPIs, SOPs, and other procedures.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report hazards to comply with FDA and cGMP requirements.
