Job summary

ALPLA Group in Iowa City seeks a reliable packaging associate to operate and maintain multiple packaging machines. You will load materials, assemble boxes, and apply labels while ensuring quality through visual checks and documentation. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 55 lbs, and maintaining clean work areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Capable of lifting 55 pounds and standing for a minimum of 12 hours.
• Able to work with multiple types of equipment simultaneously.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards for machines and work area.

Responsibilities

• Setup, operate, and maintain packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment to ensure smooth operations.
• Load and unload packaging materials and build boxes.
• Handle hand packaging of bottles and apply labels.
• Document finished goods records and packaging specs.
• Perform quality checks and visual inspections for defects.

What You Will Enjoy Doing

Main Responsibilities:

• Setup, operate, maintain, troubleshoot multiple types of packaging equipment. Equipment may include, but is not limited to:
• top closers
• Manual responsibilities include:
• loading, building and make boxes
• hand packaging of bottles
• loading labels
• Maintenance includes:
• perform routine cleaning, and minor maintenance of equipment to ensure smooth operations
• Loading/unloading packaging materials such as corrugate, containers or other raw materials
• Documentation:
• Accurately document records of finished goods, packaging specifications, or anyvisual quality checks
• Perform changeover’s of divers packaging equipment (eg case erector, partition inserter, top sealer, …)
• Applies correct labels
• Perform quality check consisting of visual inspection of overall product, labels and packaging integrity for defects
