Job summary

ALPLA Florence Plant in Florence, KY is hiring a packaging operator to join our 12-hour shift team. You will operate, maintain and troubleshoot multiple packaging lines, with a 2-2-3 schedule and every other weekend rotation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Capable of lifting 55 pounds and standing for 12 hours or more.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot multiple types of packaging equipment.
  • Loading, building and making boxes; hand packaging of bottles; loading labels.
  • Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance of equipment.
  • Load/unload packaging materials and document records of finished goods.
  • Perform changeovers and apply correct labels; conduct visual quality checks.
  • Housekeeping and autonomous maintenance.

What Will You Enjoy Doing
Main Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot multiple types of packaging equipment.
    • Equipment may include, but is not limited to:
      • Carton erectors
      • Partition inserters
      • Product inserters (MPV, VPM, PLU)
      • Foil dispensers
      • Top closers
      • Palletization equipment
  • Manual responsibilities include:
    • Loading, building and making boxes
    • Hand packaging of bottles
    • Loading labels
  • Maintenance includes:
    • Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance of equipment to ensure smooth operations
  • Loading/unloading packaging materials such as corrugate, containers or other raw materials
  • Documentation:
    • Accurately document records of finished goods, packaging specifications, or any visual quality checks
    • Perform changeovers of diverse packaging equipment (e.g., case erector, partition inserter, top sealer, …)
    • Apply correct labels
    • Perform quality checks consisting of visual inspection of overall product, labels, and packaging integrity for defects
    • Housekeeping
    • Perform autonomous maintenance
