Job summary

IPG is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations. The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong customer communication, and the ability to work independently in the field.

You will install, repair, and maintain equipment, support PM programs, and document service actions. Travel up to 30% is expected, with a focus on uptime and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in a technical field is preferred.
• Ability to diagnose electrical and electromechanical faults at customer sites.
• Basic mechanical skills to disassemble and reassemble components safely.
• Experience with packaging automation systems is a plus.
• Proficient with PC applications (Microsoft Office) for documentation and reporting.
• Strong communication and customer-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain expert knowledge of IPG/Better Packages products and communicate value during site visits.
• Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on customer-owned equipment.
• Diagnose issues using testing tools and technical documentation; provide on-the-job training when needed.
• Establish and execute Preventive Maintenance programs for assigned accounts.
• Document issues, report performance concerns, and provide feedback for product improvement.
• Follow field service procedures, issue RMAs, complete work orders, and maintain service records.
