Job summary

IPG/Better Packages is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of packaging equipment at customer locations. You will ensure uptime and support production needs with hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Strong communication, ability to work independently in the field, and travel up to 30% are required; valid driver’s license or passport may be needed to facilitate travel.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical and electromechanical systems; diagnose faults at sites.
• Proficiency with hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair IPG/Better Packages equipment on customer sites.
• Install and PM equipment to minimize downtime and ensure uptime.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using tools and docs.
• Provide on‑the‑job training to customer maintenance teams as needed.
• Follow field service procedures: RMA requests, work orders, and reporting.
• Assist with field testing of new products and prototypes.
• Support senior technicians on complex field service jobs and escalations.
• Travel up to 30% and maintain accurate service records.
