Job summary

IPG/Better Packages seeks a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of packaging equipment at customer locations. You will ensure uptime, support production needs, and represent the company professionally in the field.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while traveling to customer sites and delivering high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; an Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and electromechanical systems at customer sites.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and wiring schematics.
• Proficiency with hand and diagnostic tools for on-site repairs and maintenance.
• Experience in packaging automation systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on customer IPG/Better Packages equipment.
• Diagnose faults using testing tools and documentation; provide on-the-job training when needed.
• Schedule and execute PM programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Assist with field testing, feedback for product improvement, and documentation of service actions.
• Travel up to 30% and communicate effectively with customers during site visits.
