Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging in the United States seeks a Senior Project Engineer to manage complex capital projects related to PET preforms and rigid containers. You will review new products from a manufacturing perspective and lead multiple projects across sites from concept to qualification, focusing on productivity, timing and budget.

In this role you will create BOMs, ensure safety and environmental compliance, refine feasibility studies into action plans, and travel about 60% to support plant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is required.
• 7+ years engineering and 7+ years project management experience in plastics packaging.
• Strong interpersonal, management and communication skills.
• Ability to lead multiple resources and direct reports across sites.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support capital appropriation.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are integrated into project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into actionable implementation plans with input from leadership.
• Review plant infrastructure and equipment against project requirements; plan upgrades and expansion.
• Analyze performance and cost of equipment, tooling and workflows; liaise with vendors.
• Publish weekly project status reports and maintain technical specs for Operations Engineering.
• Communicate with plants to monitor long-term project performance and resolve issues.
• Travel ~60% to support site projects.
