Job summary

Berkley Southwest is seeking an underwriting professional to monitor renewal pipelines, underwrite within authority, and process endorsements for renewal accounts. The role involves analyzing exposures, financial data, and loss history, while coordinating with agents and underwriters to optimize pricing and communication.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong verbal and written communication to interact with internal and external contacts.
Solid organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Learning agility and willingness to learn from experiences and new situations.
Ability to maintain professional relationships with co-workers, agency contacts, and the public.

Responsibilities

Monitor the renewal pipeline and underwrite renewal business within authority.
Process endorsements and perform underwriting analysis on low-complexity renewal accounts.
Refer renewals outside of authority to a Manager or Underwriter.
Apply pricing to underwritten accounts and discuss rate changes with the Underwriter and Regional Sales Director.
Serve as the account team’s first point of contact with agents regarding information, service issues, and billing questions.
