Job summary

Berkley Southwest, a Berkley Company, is seeking an underwriter analyst to contribute to renewal underwriting and pricing decisions in Arkansas. The role partners with underwriting and sales teams to manage exposures and endorsements while delivering responsive service to agents.

You will evaluate low‑complexity renewals, apply approved pricing, review submissions, and support data-driven process improvements. Bachelor’s degree required; insurance credentials encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent.
• Commercial rating experience or underwriting preferred.
• Advanced insurance education (CPCU, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite low complexity renewal accounts within authority.
• Apply pricing and discuss rate changes with Underwriter/Director.
• Review new submissions for acceptability and gather risk data.
• Serve as main contact for agents on information and billing inquiries.
• Order and review loss control reports per guidelines.
• Complete regulatory and internal filings accurately.
• Update exposures after premium audits.
• Assess account correspondence and decide action within policy.
• Maintain regular communication with underwriting, sales, and support.
• Participate in process improvements for efficiency.
• Assist onboarding and training of new team members.
• Communicate professionally with agents.
• Other duties as assigned.
