Berkley Southeast, a Berkley Company, is seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter to evaluate and price risk within established guidelines, partnering with agents to grow a profitable book of business. The role includes mentoring junior underwriters and representing the company at industry events.

The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years in commercial lines underwriting, CPCU preferred, and excellent communication and multitasking abilities.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 5–10 years commercial lines underwriting experience (CGL, Property, Packages, BOP, Auto, Crime, IW, Umbrella and/or WC).
• CPCU designation or equivalent coursework preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial lines products and state regulatory differences.

Aufgaben

• Evaluate and maintain risk acceptability and profitability within underwriting guidelines and procedures.
• Partner with agents to manage commercial business and agency relationships.
• Mentor underwriters with technical support and problem solving.
• Travel to assigned agent locations to develop agency partnerships.
• Train and educate agency staff on products and underwriting philosophy.
• Attend industry workshops/meetings and participate in the agency management process.
