Job summary

The Salvation Army St. Cloud Corps is seeking a Housing Advocate to provide direct support to shelter participants and maintain a safe, welcoming environment. You will respond to needs, assist with shelter operations, and help participants access basic resources and services.

This position requires empathy, strong boundaries, and reliable documentation of interactions and incidents. Evening, weekend, and overnight shifts may be required, with a pay range of $14.79 to $17.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or vulnerable populations preferred.
• Experience in shelter services, human services, customer service, residential programs, or related settings preferred.
• Must pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Directly support shelter participants and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Monitor daily shelter activities, respond to emergencies, assist with meals, and support operational needs.
• Complete required documentation and maintain accurate records of interactions and incidents.
• Provide information about shelter services and connect participants with resources and staff.
