Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an experienced store leader to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive customer service, and ensure staffing needs are met while upholding Meijer standards.

The role emphasizes coaching teams, managing P&L, promoting safety, and delivering fast, friendly service to shoppers during peak hours. Experience in retail leadership and training is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store, customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with team members and leadership.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information for decisions.
• Experience in teaching suggestive selling and leading teams with safety in mind.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members; implement strategies to improve customer service and store sales.
• Ensure staffing, selection and hiring meet staffing needs; promote succession planning.
• Apply disciplinary actions as needed and make discharge recommendations.
• Maintain store appearance, product presentation, and adherence to company standards.
• Deliver exceptional, fast, and friendly customer service; communicate initiatives.
• Train team in all job areas and ensure required training is completed.
• Spend most time in-store engaging with customers and team members to ensure service excellence.
• Maintain safe work environment and reliable attendance; perform other duties as assigned.
