Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor staff, optimize customer service, and drive sales while maintaining store standards. A strong background in staffing, training, and P&L oversight is essential for success.

You will lead with a focus on safety, efficiency, and excellent customer experience, ensuring timely staffing and effective communication with team members and customers alike.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to the team.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information for informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and lead staff to safety.
• Excellent ability to teach suggestive selling.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentors and coaches team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintains store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning and development needs for the team.
• Documents disciplinary actions and discharges when needed.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and reducing shrink.
• Models exceptional, fast, friendly customer service.
• Ensures team training and adherence to Meijer standards.
• Fosters a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
