Job summary

Meijer Inc. in New Albany, IN is seeking an Overnight Team Leader to plan, direct, and supervise store operations.

You will mentor the team, drive customer service excellence, manage staffing and development, and uphold company standards for appearance and safety. The role requires 2–3 years of retail experience and at least 1 year of management experience, with rotational duties across departments to optimize product flow and service quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members in the organization in a way that provides clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and by addressing root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions. Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team; implement strategies to improve customer service and drive sales.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation to company standards.
• Staffing, hiring and development to ensure staffing needs are met.
• Manage P&L, shrink control, and promotion decisions.
• Ensure team is trained and adheres to safety standards.
• Foster Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings, ensuring exceptional service.
