Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
• Ability to mentor team members across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in day-to-day operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to achieve service and sales goals.
• Staffing, selection, and hiring to meet needs.
• Support promotion decisions and succession planning.
• Maintain P&L responsibility and control shrink for the department.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and align with Meijer standards.
• Ensure training across all job areas and adherence to safety practices.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and daily work.
