Job summary

New-England-Center-and-Home-For-Veteran is seeking an Overnight Supportive Residential Staff per diem in Boston, MA. You will work 12-hour shifts overnight or varied hours within a 24/7 transitional housing setting for veterans with mental health or substance use disorders.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, handling crises, collaborating with operations and VA coordinators, and documenting shift details while supporting residents with their goals and needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• One+ year of experience with residential services and with diverse populations.
• Veteran status a plus.
• LADC or CADC preferred.
• Ability to work within the low-threshold/Harm Reduction model.
• Strong communication and boundary-setting skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety within the program and manage crisis situations.
• Collaborate with operation staff and VA coordinator; respond to event reports.
• Assist participants with issues arising during shifts; facilitate activities as needed.
• Document relevant shift information and ensure data collection deadlines.
• Work with NECHV programs and the VA to maintain positive relationships.
