Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Ohio seeks an Area Leader to drive team engagement, coaching, and performance across a span of care. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, manage staffing and budgets, and champion Meijer standards and customer service excellence to boost sales and productivity.

You will identify talent, develop future leaders, and ensure safe, compliant operations while fostering an inclusive culture across the store.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information and make informed decisions.
• Understanding of safety at the store level.
• Proactive thinking to drive business results.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training, development, and coaching to enable success.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership succession planning.
• Delivers candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and foster growth.
• Oversees area operations and financials, including scheduling and budget management.
• Drives safety, compliance and store condition management.
• Guides Leads and Team Leaders in daily work assignments and training needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
