Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement and performance for the span of care. You will lead onboarding, coaching and feedback, while managing staffing and leadership pipelines to meet business needs.

You will be accountable for area operations and financial results, including safety, scheduling, and customer service, with a focus on process improvements and Meijer culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear direction.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrates commitment to working safely at all times.
• Ability to foster an inclusive environment for team members and customers.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to onboarding, training and coaching for success.
• Identify talent and plan staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Conduct candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budget items in P&L.
• Drive safety and compliance and maintain store conditions; enforce procedures.
• Provide guidance to Team Leaders and Leads on daily tasks and training needs.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
