Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement and development for team members across the span of care. You will coach, recognize performance, and manage talent, while ensuring alignment with budget and store goals.

You will lead Leaders and oversee area operations, focusing on safety, process improvements, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment. Strong leadership and financial acumen are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrates proactive/creative thinking and applies it to the business.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where all team members and vendors feel valued.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and coaching for success.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership development.
• Conducts candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, budgeting and forecast accuracy.
• Drives safety and compliance, and maintains overall store condition.
• Guides Team Leaders and Leads with daily assignments and training needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
