Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive team member engagement and operational excellence across the span of care. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, manage budgets and staffing forecasts, and champion safety and compliance while advancing Meijer’s culture and community focus.

The role requires a strong track record in retail leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to develop talent and optimize store performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience required.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and guide teams effectively.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members in span of care to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership succession planning.
• Conducts candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Drives safety and compliance and maintains store condition.
• Directs Team Leaders and Leads in daily work assignments and training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
