The Salvation Army Southern California in Seattle, WA is hiring Shelter Support Staff for the Overnight Shelter Program. The role supports crisis calls, client intakes, safety rounds, and coordination with the King County Shelter Program under supervision.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED and at least 6 months in public contact/customer service. Full-time, non-exempt position with Sundays and Wednesday–Friday, 7:15pm–5:45am shifts and a strong benefits package.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of 6 months experience in public contact/customer service.

Aufgaben

• Respond to crisis and inquiry telephone calls by providing support, information, and referrals.
• Provide assistance to residents to ensure a safe environment, including rule compliance.
• Conduct periodic walking inspections to identify hazards and initiate corrective action.
• Respond to emergencies and make independent decisions within policy guidelines.
• Provide crisis intervention and institute security procedures as needed.
• Conduct client intakes and departure processes as required by policy.
• Provide orientation, support, and supervision to staff and volunteers.
• Assist with training of new staff and volunteers.
• Work with Salvation Army staff and community partners.
• Maintain case records and required forms and reports.
• Comply with policy manuals and employee handbook.
• Prepare refreshments for guests and perform general cleaning duties.
• Work with janitorial staff as assigned.
• Perform other duties as requested.
