Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking Shelter Support Staff in Seattle for in-person work at SoDo. You will handle crisis calls, assist residents, and conduct daily safety checks under supervision of the King County Shelter Program team.

Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED and 6 months in public/customer service; WA driver’s license preferred. Benefits include health, vacation, and paid time off for full-time roles.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months of public contact/customer service experience.
• Experience in social service shelter / residential preferred.
• WA Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis and inquiry calls with support, information and referrals.
• Provide a safe environment by enforcing rules and assisting residents.
• Conduct periodic facility inspections to identify hazards and needed repairs.
• Respond to emergencies and notify police, fire or EMS when needed.
• Perform client intakes and departure processing per policy.
• Maintain confidential case records and required reports.
• Support orientation and training of staff and volunteers.
