Job summary

The Salvation Army in Seattle is hiring Shelter Support Staff to assist with intake, interviews, and guest data processing, reporting to the King County Shelter Program Manager. The role emphasizes safety, crisis support, and collaboration with participants and community partners.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in public contact or customer service.
• Experience in social service shelter or residential setting preferred.
• WA Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis and inquiry telephone calls by providing support, information, and referrals to other social services.
• Conduct client intakes and departure processes per department policy.
• Maintain case records and required forms and reports in prescribed formats.
• General cleaning and facility maintenance as assigned, including bathrooms and sleeping areas.
• Work with Salvation Army staff and community partners to support residents and de-escalate conflicts.
