The Salvation Army USA Western Territory in Chehalis, WA is seeking a Shelter Program Aide to support overnight shelter operations. This regular part-time, non-exempt role focuses on maintaining a safe, clean environment and assisting clients with basic needs while upholding program policies.

You will log daily activities, assist volunteers, and participate in trainings, ensuring respectful service to a diverse community. Strong English, reliability, and teamwork are essential for success.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year of work experience; preferably 6 months of public contact / customer service.
• Experience with housekeeping or light custodian work, preferred.
• Experienced with people experiencing homelessness.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and maintain the shelter for clients, log temperatures, perform laundry, cleaning, and disinfecting.
• Check information logs and trespass lists related to clients.
• Client intake: forms, HMIS, organize belongings.
• Maintain and update client contact information.
• Prepare bed bags and distribute bedding.
• Janitorial duties: trash disposal, room cleaning, outdoor areas.
• Daily client counts and safety checks.
• Walkthroughs and monitoring of the shelter.
• Apply safety standards and PPE.
• Attend trainings and meetings.
• Follow policies and enforce rules with clients.
