Job summary

CAP Agency in Prior Lake, MN seeks an Overnight Shelter Attendant (ONSA) to oversee the shelter during overnight hours and assist families experiencing homelessness. This role emphasizes confidentiality, crisis management, and coordination with CAP programs.

The position requires strong teamwork, excellent communication, and the ability to work a 10 pm–8 am shift (32 hours/week) at the Hopes Portage Shelter in Prior Lake, MN.

Qualifications

• Experience working with households who are experiencing homelessness.
• Ability to implement a strength-based and empowering approach to service delivery.
• Knowledge of confidentiality requirements and client privacy.
• Familiarity with CAP Agency programs and resources.
• Capability to clean and maintain shelter spaces and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to effective program practices and maintain professionalism throughout the agency and community.
• Respect and respond competently to the culture, traditions, lifestyle, language, and values of each family and community.
• Maintain Client Confidentiality.
• Utilize conflict resolution and crisis management skills.
• Maintain all records according to agency/program guidelines.
• Be knowledgeable of all CAP Agency programming and community resources; collaborate with staff for the coordination of services.
• Cleaning the shelter common and shared spaces (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and wiping down hard surfaces).
• Other duties as assigned.
