Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership role to supervise day-to-day operations and mentor staff at a Meijer location in Illinois. You will focus on staffing, training, and ensuring customer satisfaction while upholding company standards.

The position emphasizes P&L responsibilities, achieving sales targets, and maintaining store appearance and efficiency. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes career development and succession planning.
• Disciplinary actions and recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Drive exceptional customer service and meet sales goals.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet Meijer standards.
• Ensure teams are trained and compliant with required training.
• Spend majority of time in-store engaging with customers and teammates.
• Promote a safe work environment.
