Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive engagement, development, and performance across a store's span of care. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, manage area operations and budgets, and steer process improvements while upholding the Meijer culture.

You will engage in talent discussions to build staffing pipelines, coach for progress, and ensure adherence to safety and customer service standards across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information.
• Demonstrates proactive/creative thinking and applies it to the business.
• Commitment to a diverse and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to onboard, train and coach for success.
• Identifies talent and plans staffing to support store needs.
• Involvement in candid discussions to ensure standards and growth.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budgeting and P&L.
• Drive safety, compliance and store condition management.
• Direct Team Leaders and Leads in daily tasks and training needs.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
