Job summary

Volunteers of America Northern California & Nevada is seeking an overnight Facility Assistant for The Village on Sage Street in Reno, NV. The role focuses on safe, compassionate service to tenants, with tasks including security, housekeeping, and routine maintenance during a 12:00 am–8:00 am schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to work irregular hours and be a team member.
• CPR and First Aid training within 90 days of employment, and TB testing annually.

Responsibilities

• Explain program rules to tenants and ensure observance.
• Provide awake shift coverage and maintain grounds security.
• De-escalate crises and provide emergency assistance to tenants and staff.
• Maintain daily shift logs and incident reports.
• Perform housekeeping, janitorial, and maintenance tasks.
• Respond to tenant questions and concerns.
• Perform clerical duties (phone, messages, filing).
• Communicate clearly with tenants and on-site staff.
• Assist with leases and community operations.
