VOA Northern California & Northern Nevada is seeking a Facility Assistant at The Village on Sage Street in Reno to deliver compassionate, hands-on support to tenants. The role emphasizes security, housekeeping, and adherence to program rules within a low-income housing setting.

The position requires teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to respond to crises. CPR/First Aid training must be completed within 90 days, with TB testing annually; shifts vary to cover day, evening, and night

Qualifications

• This position requires clear communication and the ability to serve tenants without bias.
• CPR and First Aid training must be completed within 90 days of employment, with TB testing annually.
• Must be able to work irregular hours and function as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Explain program rules to tenants and monitor observance.
• Provide awake shift coverage and conduct hourly safety checks.
• De-escalate crises and provide emergency assistance as needed.
• Maintain daily and shift logs for reporting.
• Perform housekeeping, janitorial, and basic maintenance tasks.
• Assist with tenant leases and community engagement.
• Document tenant concerns and report incidents promptly.
• Train and mentor new staff as requested.
• Commit to ongoing self-development and required certifications.
