Job summary

Sandman Hotel Group is seeking a Night Auditor to perform nightly audits, balance ledgers, and prepare operating reports. The role requires working the night shift at the front desk and maintaining high standards of service.

The ideal candidate will have strong hospitality and accounting knowledge, be fluent in English with Spanish preferred, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills to respond to guests and operate the front desk efficiently.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and people management experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Two-year apprenticeship or college program in front desk operations or hotel management preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hospitality industry principles and accounting practices.
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
• Ability to analyze client needs and provide solutions.
• Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments.
• Register arriving guests and assign rooms.
• Answer enquiries regarding hotel services and registration by letter, by telephone and in person, provide information about services available in the community and respond to guests' complaints.
• Compile and check daily record sheets, guest accounts, receipts and vouchers using computerized or manual systems.
• Present statements of charges to departing guests and receive payment.
• Hotel security and post all daily room charges.
• Take over from the evening cashier, checking and accepting float.
• Accept revenue and floats from restaurant cashiers, ensuring secure handling.
• Accept and lock away keys from various departments.
• Prepare Credit Card/Charge Card summaries and post to accounts.
• Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance.
