Qualifications

• Previous hotel front desk, night audit, or related hospitality experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of accounting or cash‑handling principles.
• Experience with property management systems (PMS) or hotel reservation software is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, recordkeeping, and financial reconciliation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight shifts.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications, including email, spreadsheets, and word processing.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to consistently work scheduled overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality or accounting coursework is a plus.
• Must meet any legal requirements for employment and work authorization in the property’s location.

Responsibilities

• Perform nightly audit processes, including balancing and reconciling all daily financial transactions for the front desk and related departments.
• Verify room rates, adjustments, discounts, payments, and postings for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Run and distribute end‑of‑day and night audit reports for management, accounting, and operational teams.
• Monitor and review daily revenue, occupancy, and other key metrics to identify discrepancies or unusual activity.
• Handle late check‑ins, early departures, and guest inquiries, ensuring prompt, professional, and courteous service.
• Answer and direct incoming calls, take messages, and provide general information about the hotel and local area.
• Process guest payments, post charges, and maintain accurate records in the property management system.
• Resolve or elevate guest issues, complaints, and special requests in a timely and service‑oriented manner.
• Ensure lobby and front desk areas are clean, organized, and welcoming throughout the night.
• Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and security as needed to address overnight issues.
• Complete nightly checklists and ensure all front desk tasks are finalized before morning shift turnover.
• Follow established cash‑handling procedures, including balancing cash drawers and securing deposits.
• Maintain confidentiality of guest information and protect company assets in accordance with policies.
• Adhere to safety and security protocols, including monitoring property access and reporting incidents.
• Support other operational tasks assigned by management to ensure smooth hotel operations during overnight hours.
