Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' New England Veterinary Center & Cancer Center is seeking an Emergency Vet Assistant for the 3rd shift (overnight) in Windsor, CT. You will support veterinarians and technicians with patient care, restraint, and clerical duties, fostering a high-quality care experience.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of veterinary technician experience (ER preferred)
• Strong phlebotomy, catheter placement, and nursing skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, emotionally charged environments
• Kindness, teamwork, and a steady, supportive presence

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners, weigh patients and note vital signs
• Triage, perform exams, treatments, and administer medications as directed by LVTs
• Calm and soothe anxious patients
• Assist doctors and technicians with medication administration and patient restraint
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
• Maintain hospital equipment and records
• Bath and groom overnight patients and ensure proper discharge
