PetVet Care Centers' New England Veterinary Center & Cancer Center in Windsor, CT is seeking an Emergency Vet Assistant for 2nd shift. The role supports veterinarians and technicians by cleaning, restraining, and assisting with medical tasks, while maintaining a clean, organized clinic.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of veterinary assistant experience, strong nursing skills, and a calm, team-focused attitude in a fast-paced ER setting.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of veterinary assistant experience; ER preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy, catheter placement and nursing tasks.
• Comfort with fast-paced, emotionally charged situations.
• Kindness, teamwork, and a supportive presence are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet owners, record weights and vital signs on arrival.
• Assist doctors with medications and patient restraint.
• Perform labs and take radiographs as directed.
• Maintain records, equipment, and hospital cleanliness.
• Promote hospital products and services as needed.
