Job summary

New England Veterinary Center & Cancer Center in Windsor, CT is seeking an Emergency Vet Assistant for the 3rd shift (overnight). You will support veterinarians and technicians, assist with surgeries, handle equipment, and provide compassionate care to hospitalized pets.

The role requires at least 1 year of veterinary tech experience (ER preferred), strong nursing skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• 1+ year veterinary technician experience (ER preferred)
• Phlebotomy, catheter placement, and nursing skills

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners, take weight and vital signs
• Triage patients and assist with medications and restraints
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
• Maintain hospital equipment and room cleanliness
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
