Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to drive team member engagement and elevate performance within the span of care. You will lead onboarding, training, coaching, and feedback to support success and growth for team members and leaders.

You’ll oversee area operations, financial results, scheduling and forecasting, ensuring safety and adherence to Meijer standards while fostering an inclusive environment and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and coaching for success.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership development.
• Leads candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and promote growth within the organization.
• Accountable for area operations and financial results by overseeing plans to maximize sales and productivity.
• Drives safety and compliance and ensures proper store condition management.
• Directs leads and assigns daily work and training needs; performs other duties as required.
