Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to drive team engagement, recognition, coaching, and performance management across a span of care. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, ensure onboarding and training, and manage area operations and budgets while pursuing process improvements and culture stewardship.

You will identify talent, discuss career paths, and maintain safety standards while delivering strong customer service and store performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Progressive leadership experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members and provide clear direction.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Experience leading teams and driving safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development.
• Identify talent and support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Conduct candid conversations to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budget management.
• Drive safety, compliance, and store condition management.
• Lead Leads and Team Leaders to assign daily work and training needs.
• Other duties as required.
