Job summary

Qualus is seeking an Overhead Transmission Line Engineer to design and produce construction drawings for overhead transmission projects on the Transmission Design team.

Requirements include a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited school and 4–6 years of overhead transmission design experience, with proficiency in PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, MFAD and Microsoft Office; travel up to 10% and a valid driver's license are required; a PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS degree in civil engineering or related field from ABET-accredited school.
• 4–6 years of overhead transmission design experience.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and valid driver's license.
• PE license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
• Prepare construction sketches for overhead network services (4 KV through 34 KV).
• Perform structural analysis and design, perform foundation designs.
• Model transmission lines in PLS-CADD, determine right of way requirements, calculate conductor sags, and develop transmission line plan and profile drawings.
• Review vendor submittals.
