Job summary

Pike Electric LLC in Chesapeake, VA seeks a Class A Lineman to construct and repair overhead distribution systems. You will work on energized and de-energized lines, climb various structures, and operate bucket trucks, often traveling to different job sites as needed.

Safety comes first: you will report to the Foreman, lead crew members in the absence of the EIC, mentor apprentices, and perform live-line work with proper PPE, switching and tagging procedures, grounding, and testing.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of recent overhead line experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends, holidays, emergencies, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance and repair of overhead distribution systems while prioritizing safety.
• Lead crew members in the absence of the Employee in Charge and conduct pre-job safety briefings.
• Train and mentor apprentices and groundmen.
• Install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators and related hardware.
• Work with live-line procedures, including switching, tagging, grounding and testing.
