Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking a safety-focused Class A Lineman to construct and repair overhead distribution systems. You will work on energized and de-energized lines, travel to multiple sites as needed, and report to the Foreman.

You must be able to work at heights and in harsh weather conditions, with on-call rotation. The role requires 5 years of overhead line experience, a valid CDL, and willingness to travel long distances on short notice.

Qualifications

• Five years of overhead line experience is required.
• Valid CDL is required.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to work out-of-town assignments and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance and repair of overhead distribution systems, prioritizing safety.
• Lead crew in absence of supervisor and conduct pre-job safety briefings.
• Train and mentor apprentices and ground personnel.
• Install and repair overhead lines, poles, insulators, conductors and hardware.
• Understand switching, tagging, grounding, and voltage considerations; use proper tools and test equipment.
• Climb structures of wood, steel or concrete using approved methods.
• Work outdoors in extreme conditions and on-call for outages or emergencies.
• Perform live-line work using gloving and hot-stick techniques; troubleshoot faults.
