Job summary

Pike Electric LLC is hiring a Groundman to support the construction and maintenance of overhead electrical distribution systems. You will assist the crew under the Foreman, performing new construction and repairs while prioritizing safety and PPE protocols.

Expect outdoor work in varied weather, potential outages, and on‑call rotations. You must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a CDL within 60 days, with readiness to travel long distances as needed and lift up to 50 pounds.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist team in building, repairing, and maintaining overhead electrical distribution systems.
• Report to Foreman.
• Perform new construction, maintain and repair overhead distribution systems with safety first.
• Install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE use and insulated protective measures.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Understand when to wear PPE.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Work extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
