Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC in Clay, KY is seeking an Overhead Distribution Lineman – B Class to join our on-site crew. This role requires climbing poles, working with energized lines, and performing essential distribution work.

Candidates should have 2–3 years of experience, a valid Class A CDL with current medical card, and be willing to work overtime; storm duty available. Responsibilities include setting poles, stringing wire, transformer connections, and ensuring safety for the crew.

Qualifications

• Two to Three (2-3) years of experience or equivalent hours.
• Ability to climb poles and perform strenuous duties in various weather conditions.
• Ability to read and record data from meter dials.
• Ability to operate service truck and equipment safely.
• Must pass criminal and MVR background checks and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Thorough knowledge of methods, practices and equipment of electrical line work.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively.
• Digs holes and sets poles for electrical lines.
• String wire on new construction or repairs.
• Sets and connects transformers and other electrical distribution equipment.
• Climbs poles and performs repairs on lines.
• Trim trees along electrical lines as required.
• Responds to work orders for utility services and disconnections/ reconnections.
• Maintain assigned tools and equipment.
