Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC (5 Star) seeks an Overhead Distribution Lineman – B Class to perform groundman and lineman tasks, work energized lines, and install distribution equipment in Western Kentucky. The role demands climbing, heavy lifting, and strong safety practices in diverse weather.

Qualified candidates will have 2–3 years in line work, CDL A with a medical card, and the ability to travel for storm work. This is an on-site role with potential overtime and field training opportunities.

Qualifications

2-3 years of experience in electrical line work or equivalent hours.
Must pass criminal and MVR background checks.
Willing to travel for training and storm work.
Must complete OSHA 10hr Safety Training within 60 days.

Responsibilities

Thorough knowledge of methods, practices and equipment of electrical line work.
Climb poles and perform strenuous duties in various weather conditions.
Digs holes and sets poles for electrical lines and strings wire on construction or repair.
Sets and connects transformers and other electrical distribution equipment.
Responds to work orders for disconnections, reconnections, and new orders.
Maintain tools and equipment and operate service truck.
