Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC is seeking an Overhead Distribution Lineman – B Class to join our team in Louisville, KY. The role involves working on energized/de-energized lines, pole changes, and transformer work, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer communication.

Candidates must have 2-3 years of lineman experience, a valid CDL A with medical card, and be prepared for 40-60 hour weeks including storm work. OSHA 10-hour training within 60 days is required.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of distribution lineman experience.
• Valid State Driver License; CDL Class A and medical card.
• Clean MVR; pass background/drug screen.
• OSHA 10-hour safety training within 60 days.
• Completion of formal training or 4+ years of energized work.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Thorough knowledge of methods, practices and equipment of electrical line work.
• Climb poles and perform duties in various weather conditions.
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively.
• Work with customers and handle difficult situations professionally.
• Operate service truck and maintain tools/equipment.
• Digs holes and sets poles for electrical lines; strings wire as needed.
• Sets and connects transformers and other distribution equipment.
