Job summary

Qualifications

• CDL-A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic allowed.
• 1 year experience in last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Passable MVR according to hiring standards.
• Meets DOT 391 FMC regs for commercial driving.
• LCV qualifications required for listed states (AZ, CO, FL, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD, UT).
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook/unhook trailers and perform lifting tasks (~100 lbs).
• Ability to sit long periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in/out of truck.
• Able to follow instructions and training; work independently or in a team.
• Demonstrates initiative and motivation.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations to pick up and deliver between service centers and turn-points.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from tractors and trailers.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports; maintain logs.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and DOT procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems to dispatch.
• May perform chaining of vehicle tires; may perform city driver or dock duties when needed.
• Load and unload freight as required; comply with laws, regulations, and company policy.
