Job summary

R.P. Lumber Co., Inc. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to grow contractor and builder business in Belvidere, IL.

You will locate new accounts, service existing customers, quote jobs accurately, and follow through to close sales. You will sell lumber and building materials to contractors, developers, property managers, realtors, and homeowners. The role requires travel within the territory and collaboration with the General Manager and store teams to ensure pricing and deliveries stay

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent training, or related experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Proficient with BisTrack, Word, Excel, estimating software, and related systems.
• Strong math for rates, ratios, percentages, and simple calculations.
• Clear communication, presentation, and follow-through.
• Ability to keep information confidential.
• Willing to travel and be flexible schedule-wise.

Responsibilities

• Develop new accounts and cover existing ones in Belvidere territory.
• Travel to call on customers; follow up by phone, email, or text.
• Quote prices, manage credit applications, and schedule deliveries.
• Read blueprints, estimate quantities, and prepare bids.
• Enter pricing data and generate sales reports.
• Coordinate deliveries and support store operations.
