Job summary

R.P. Lumber is hiring an Outside Sales Representative in Monticello, IN to grow contractor and builder business for lumber and building materials. You will travel within the territory, quote jobs, and ensure accurate pricing and timely deliveries.

The role focuses on new accounts and service of existing customers, working with the store team to meet volume and profit goals. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical training or 1–2 years related experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to use BisTrack, Word, Excel, and estimating software at an intermediate level.
• Strong communication, presentation, and follow-through skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop business and cover accounts in the territory.
• Travel to call on current and prospective customers; follow up by phone or email.
• Manage contractor and customer accounts and match needs to products.
• Quote prices, collect credit apps, and set up deliveries.
• Prepare reports and keep pricing, orders, and deliveries on track.
